What makes Arkansas Gourmet Rice mixes unique?
Arkansas Gourmet Rice (AGR) prepares artisan rice mixes. We use only Arkansas grown rice- arguably the best rice in the country. Our rice is rinsed, roasted, and seasoned with delicious herbs and spices. Rinsing the rice reduces the starch content and roasting it gives it a naturally nutty flavor. Our mixes are made with local ingredients by local people.
What are the rice choices?
We carry 4 different styles of rice mixes that have 3 different flavors. They are as follows.
Does AGR guarantee customer satisfaction?
Yes. If you are not happy with your purchase, you may request your money back or get a store credit.
Where are AGR products made?
We operate our kitchen in the city of Little Rock, Arkansas.
How many servings are there in a bag of rice?
Our packages weigh 12 ounces and make about 5 cups of prepared rice. This equals around 6 servings of ¾ cups of rice.
How do I prepare my rice mix?
Just bring 3 cups of water to a boil and add the package contents. Reduce to a simmer and cook for about 18 minutes. Add a pat of butter and serve. Every grain comes out fluffy and separate.
What about your baked goods?
You noticed! We also offer several breads and pies on our website. We bake them fresh to order. You can order them for delivery or if you’re in the Little Rock area, you can pick them up at the local farmers’ markets.
What markets do you attend?
The Little Rock Farmers’ Market Saturdays from 7am to 1 pm and The Bernice Garden Farmer’s Market Sundays from 10am to 2 pm
What are your shipping charges?
Shipping charges vary. For rice mixes and baked goods, you can use USPS flat rate shipping, which usually arrives from 2-3 business days. UPS is also available. It is a good idea to use overnight shipping for our breads and pies. Our site calculates real time shipping charges for UPS.
When will I receive my order?
We generally ask that you allow 2-5 business days to receive your order. We only ship out between Mondays and Wednesdays. We want to avoid your baked good sitting around a shipping warehouse over the weekend.
How fresh will my baked goods be when I get them?
Our baked goods are made without additives and preservatives, so they will not last as long as many store-bought baked goods. They should be kept in the fridge for optimal freshness. Our breads stay fresh for about 7 days. Our pecan pie stays fresh for about 10 days. Our Navy Bean Pie stays fresh for about 5 days. All our baked goods freeze well. Just place the item in a zip lock bag and freeze. It will keep for approximately 6 weeks. To thaw, take item from the freezer and let it sit on the counter for about 4 hours.
What size box should I choose for flat rate shipping?
We can answer this question best by telling you what fits in the boxes.
Small- this box can hold 1 to 2 bags of rice.
Medium- this box can hold 4 bread loaves, or up to 6 bags of rice. It can also hold a combination of both breads and rice mixes. Two loaves of bread and about 4 bags of rice mixes.
Large- this box is necessary for pies. It can hold pies (up to 2), bread loaves (up to 6), and rice mixes (up to 10). It can hold a combination of 1 pie, 2 bread loaves, and up to 2 bags of rice.
